When tasked with designing a vinyl album, I went with the music artist Tycho, known for his ambient and down tempo music. Before designing I looked at his past album art to get some ideas and I noticed a reoccurring pattern, most had abstract designs with a strong limited color palette. So I went to work and crafted an abstract illustration with a color palette inspired by the triad of green, orange and purple. The idea of this album, ‘Nature Watch’, is from most of Tycho’s work having nature themed names. This can be seen when looking at the abstract design, that hints towards a giant being watching over some mountains.
